About Sarai Cruz
Sarai Cruz is a graduate from the University of Florida where she studied public relations with a minor in women’s studies. She currently works as the Communications Coordinator for the Carnival Foundation. She previously worked as the Communications and Events Intern at AccorHotels North America, Central America and Caribbean Region and as the public relations assistant for the Emerging Pathogens Institute at the University of Florida .
She expanded her knowledge in the public relations and marketing field with an internship with the beauty and fashion integrated marketing agency The Riviere Agency. She put her social media management and digital marketing skills to practice with a blog she co-created, TFIOS Movie Blog, which reached more than 1 million views, more than 100,000 followers on Twitter and 50,000 followers on Tumblr. With this blog she also increased her multimedia journalism skills, as well as worked with the digital marketing team at 20th Century Fox.
She served an ambassador for “frank gathering,” a social change conference for public interest professionals, which happens annually in Gainesville, Fla. Sarai was the Editor-In-Chief of the Fall 2014-Spring 2015 issue of the bilingual student magazine “Com(m)unícate.” She participated in UF’s Public Relations Student Society of America and Hispanic Communicators Association. In her spare time, you will rarely find her without a book or her phone.
